Last week officially began the start of fall for retail (at least for Bloomingdale’s) so I’m in full fall mindset. As retailers have begun previewing and selling their fall merchandise, I have been ready for the temperature to drop a bit and to whip out those layers! For anyone that knows me well, you know that I have always preferred fall fashion to spring fashion. Not only can you layer, but I also just prefer cooler weather in general (I am a winter baby, after all). I have a good feeling about this season in terms of fashion, though I’m not sure what that will mean for my bank account…
Anyways, as I am now in that fall mindset, I’ve been gravitating towards some more fall-esque pieces, like my favorite leather skirt from Banana Republic. This time of year people begin debuting their transitional outfits, and I think this outfit is a perfect way to transition from those warmer temps to something a little cooler. A pop of red is perfect for fall – it allows you to add some color but in a pretty yet bold fall hue.
Quick story about these photos: I’m part of a Facebook community called Blogging For Keeps, and I have met some really great bloggers through it, particularly in NYC! I happened to meet another blogger named Samantha of The Current Classic, and we quickly learned that we both went to Tufts! We decide one morning to shoot in the UES (my favorite), and I love how the photos came out. I loved that I was able to meet not only a fellow blogger but someone who went to the same school as I did, yet we never knew each other. Getting to meet and connect with other like-minded people has been an amazing experience through this blog – I can’t wait to see where else it takes me!
